Greetings All!
Today we depart as a team of two (one team member had a change in plans) to head to Puerta Lempira, Honduras. We are excited to see what God is going to do. We are making the final adjustments to packing in order to carry as many special gifts and treats to the “familia en Puerta Lempira.” Sourdough bread made – check. Gifts loaded – check. Rides to and from the airport – check. Clothes packed – still working on that… How do we fit everything in two suitcases! :o)
We are embarking at almost midnight tonight with three ports of entry today, an overnight stay in La Ceiba, Honduras, and a five-seater plane flight the following day, Monday, with an unknown departure time heading to Puerta Lempira. Please be praying for safe travels, protection from any illnesses, ease of transitions through all the check points (customs, overage fees, etc.), no lost luggage or gifts disappearing, the last flight leaving at a reasonable time in the morning, that all our luggage will be on the little plane, and that we can hand carry the last special perishable gift with no problems (surprise for Mike’s birthday). Please pray for our house sitter and Tweety Pete, that they would have a good time, sharing space together, and that she will be successful on her finals! Please pray for the communities we will be visiting in Puerta Lempira, that the villagers would have open hearts to receive the good news and the gifts or food, sundries, and soccer balls we bring; that our hands and wrists will hold up doing hair cutting; that we will be successful in building benches for the church; and any other projects that we have planned for, that there will be enough hands and help to complete the efforts. Pray for the celebration of Mike’s Birthday on Aug. 2 and Gwen’s Birthday on Aug. 3, and the Church BBQ, that they would be times of celebration and encouragement for the “familia” at La Casa Del Camino! (Gwen has a special plan for her birthday of giving gifts to bless Mike, Lisa, and the boys of La Casa Del Camino! Pray that God would be glorified in all we do and say! That we will be Love in action!
